If your sole purpose is to play discs then this unit is fine. If you plan on using it for streaming services (Netflix, YouTube,etc.) in addition to discs then save your aggravation and look elsewhere. I bought one and thought it must be defective so returned for replacement. Second unit has same issues. Buffering at the beginning of a show may be a Netflix issue (for instance) but the unit itself should not become non-responsive and lock up, which this one does. Your only choice is to power cycle it. Frankly I’m embarrassed for Sony and I don’t even know anyone who works there. It’s basically bottom of the heap in that regard. Just junk as a streaming platform.
