Does what you need
Dad wanted something for movies and music out in his shed – and this fit the bill. Great price, does all he needs. IT’s Samsung so the quality is good and he’s had no problems with it in the several months he’s owned it.

Check the packaging! Better than I thought!
In my original review I complained that the HDMI cable had not been included as advertised. I was wrong. Product came in a big, thick plastic envelope with the box inside. I slit the envelope and pulled out the box, only to find the cable was not in the generic brown cardboard box. I got mad! Shelved the device because I didn’t have time to go buy a cable. Wrote a bad review for the item and supplier. Then I decided to go pull the plastic envelope out of the trash and lo and behold the cable had be thrown into the bag seperate from the boxed items. Once I finally got it set up, it works great. My apologies for not providing an accurate review, but in my defense, the packaging was terrible. So, I’m raising from two stars to four stars, leaving off one star due to the packaging.

Infuriating garbage
It does what it wants, when it wants. The eject button works every 5th push, maybe. The remote works even less frequently. Discs rarely start right, and it’s nearly impossible to get to a disc menu.Yes, it interfaces with a Samsung TV. But the menu is ancient.

Itâs not a 4 k
I loved it at first, but now it stopped working the tv screen went black I could not get the dvd to show up on screen. It would show loading but would not put it on the tv and the Hulu on it kept cutting out so it is very hard to watch Hulu through it.

Very easy to install the component, operating the unit is another story.
I am a fan of the Samsung brand. I had owned a few DVD players in the past had required multi endless cables to hook it up. Especially if there’s a Soundbar, Cable box and the TV itself is an ordeal. To my shocking surprised I only needed one (1) cable to deal with the connection with the Blue-ray component to the TV. Even more surprised no more multi remote control for each item. Only one (1) remote control to turn on the TV, Soundbar and Blue-ray. Note: all components must be the same Samsung brand for the convenience of one remote control. The picture quality is sharp and details clear the only noise you hear coming from the unit when a new disk insert adjusting to the disk formate. The downside is the manual itself. They send you a Quick Guide manual to show you how to set up the component itself. Very EASY. The real trick is how to operate the unit, especially with its WiFi connection.I download the manuals for extra help in the SETTING features. You are on your own because of the Manuel don’t explain anything. So you need a degree in IT to maneuver the setting features.

So nice I bought it twice
I had this come up missing in a recent move cross country. I had to replace it and bought the exact same model that I had previously. I like this because it is super easy to setup and use and you can play music CDs which I have a ton of as well as blu ray and DVDs. Plus, it did not cost an arm and a leg

Fine, but no power on light…really??
Works fine. But thereâs no way to know if itâs turned on or off. No indicator light. And the remote for this DVD player also turns our Samsung tv on and off so…yea itâs fun and oh so smart lol.
