Forget Online Digital – Go Blu Ray!
I recently decided that buying movies online through my cable provider was something I no longer wanted to do. First, you have to login, online, to watch the movies and thus, you must have an internet connection. What if I change providers? Will I still have access to my movies? Maybe – maybe not! WAIT – what were you just thinking? The quality question? Yeah – there’s that as well! You can by an HD movie, but it really depends on your internet connection! The best 4K movie can be no better than an SD version if you don’t have a good connection, not to mention the right television that supports 4K. So, being the movie connoisseur that I am – a real lover of movies in general, I came to Amazon looking for a good Blu Ray player! Since you asked – I’ll tell you, yeah, I found it! This Blu Ray arrived well packaged, and appears to be well made. Operates smoothly and plays movies as expected. Seems to be as advertised. What can I say – I’m happy, and I’m sure you will be as well. Now – go watch a movie!

Good When it Works
My purpose in purchasing this machine was to find a 4K Blu-ray/DVD player that would be compatible with my two (non-4K) HD televisions, and that would also be easy to set up. Why would I want a 4K player if I don’t own a 4K TV, you ask? Two reasons: one, because I have a sneaking suspicion that eventually, movies released on disc will ONLY be released on 4K, and so I want a machine that will play them, even if the resolution is limited by my regular HD TVs, and two, so that one day, if I do upgrade to a 4K TV, I will have a fully compatible disc player.Upon hooking this Panasonic 4K player to my 2017 model-year Samsung HD TV, it worked just fine. HOWEVER, strangely, only the picture was good with my newer, 2022 Samsung HD TV. The sound was extremely loud and “hollow”, even at the lowest volume setting and after trying out multiple different HDMI cables.So, I can only use this on one TV– which is fine, since I continue to use a regular Blu-ray player on the other –but I hesitate to recommend this unit to someone whose TV might not be compatible. I imagine that on a regular 4K TV it should work just fine.Also, this Panasonic player does not come with an HDMI cable; so you will have to purchase oneseparately or use one that you already have.

User Friendly Starter Blu Ray Player
This is the first blu ray player I had the pleasure to own. It is very beginner friendly and does the job at an affordable price. I recently bought some 4k UHD blu rays and wanted to get the full experience. Glad I did because the picture quality is beautiful. One caveat is that it does not come with a 4k HDMI cable you will have to purchase it separately. Otherwise, you just plug it in and it runs. Also cool that the controller for my Amazon 4k television automatically works for the player.

Good unit if you don’t need “smart” one
We already have a smart TV, so there was no need for a smart 4k player. This unit works well.We did have one annoyance – there were frequent blackouts while playing discs. At first we thought it was from defective discs, but decided 4 bad discs out of 5 was too much of a coincidence. I replaced the HDMI cable with a shorter, better one (also from Amazon), and the problem disappeared.

Bought this during black Friday. Makes a weird sound after inserting disc, but seemed to play fine. Half the time you try to power it up, my tv cant find the signal and you need to un plug and re plug in hdmi. Thought maybe it was a problem with the cord since it didnt come with one and I was using an old hdmi. Bought a new cord and the same issue persisted. Annoying but the player did seem to work fine after re plugging it in so whatever. Then of course, after the return window had closed it started freezing half way through movies I was trying to watch. Product support is a joke. You try to click on the link to go to support site and it always says page cannot be found. Thought I got a decent deal for a name brand product. Ended up throwing away 150 bucks. Thanks. Thoroughly dissatisfied and unhappy.
