The Scooby Gang Teams Up with a Batman Villain!!!!!
Yes you read that correctly, Scooby and the gang team up with Batman villain The Scarecrow :)That situation alone deserves a five-star rating. But don’t get me wrong, realistically without that element this movie is more like a two-star rating and if you don’t care about the title of this review that’s all you’ll see when you watch it. But as a lifelong Scooby Doo and super-hardcore Batman Fan that reason alone got me to five stars. Now my actual un-biased true definition of a five-star rated Scooby Doo movie are Films like “Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island” and “Scooby-Doo: The Mystery Begins”.When this movie first came out in October of 2020 I bought the DVD on Amazon having not actually seen any trailers for it at all (yes I’m that crazy of a Scooby fan). So literally I had no idea that Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow was going to be in it. Imagine my surprise when his character was unmasked after the opening credits.Dwight Schultz (Murdoc from the original A-Team) did an amazing job voicing both Jonathan Crane and his criminal alter-ego.This movie is a follow up to “Scooby-Doo: Curse of the 13th Ghost” and “Scooby-Doo: Return to Zombie Island” both of which were unfortunately a huge let down. But all three of these movies introduced a character known as “The Sheriff” (Voiced by David Herman) who in Curse of the 13th Ghost began hassling the Scooby Gang for breaking the law while attempting to solve mysteries. His character then showed up in Return to Zombie Island where at the end of the Film he arrived on the island (virtually out of nowhere) and informed the teens they could once again be mystery solvers insisting that the gang and what they do are important and much needed. The Sheriff returns in this movie where you will see him in a much larger role where you will finally learn exactly where he stands with the gang. This movie also very heavily ties into a previous Scooby Movie titled “Scooby Doo & Batman: The Brave and the Bold” where the Scooby Gang traveled to Gotham City, met Batman along with dozens of other DC Comics characters, and officially joined the Mystery Analysts of Gotham City. Although no direct reference in this Film is ever mentioned to having met Batman in the past it feels very heavily like a sequel to it. Which I personally really loved. Now although “Batman The Brave and the Bold” was never my favorite animated DC universe (that would be the Bruce Timm verse especially Batman: The Animated Series from the 90’s) The Brave and the Bold universe was still really cool with amazing villains such as Equinox and the Jeff Bennet voiced version of The Joker. So having “Happy Halloween Scooby Doo” become a new addition to that universe with this super awesome version of The Scarecrow was an all-inspiring moment in my Fan-Book.Without giving anything away I would recommend this Movie to any and all Batman fans as I think you would truly appreciate this interesting take on The Scarecrow particularly to see this character taken to new depths (teaming briefly with the Scooby Gang/his interesting chemistry with Velma during their back and fourths in dialogue). And SPOILER ALERT: He gets away at the end of the movie!!!!!

I can’t help but love it!!
Hey, I just rented the film.I am a long time Scooby doo fan and enjoy the original cartoon, movies like Zombie Island, and the more serious Mystery Incorporated (show on Netflix)So reading through some of the other reviews, I agree with a lot of the people who gave it 4 stars. These reviews take issue with some good points, but overall I just really enjoyed watching this movie!! I recommend giving it a shot. Yes, the movie is quite fast-paced, and there isn’t a slower process of a case building (they have to figure out what is going on while on the run). The action builds very quickly. The tone of the movie is much more in line with the show Mystery Incorporated, than something more young kid friendly like What’s New Scooby Doo. I thought it would be pretty scary for too young of children. It is funny, but also just very quirky. This gives some super hilarious moments and some where you kinda scratch your head (but I still love that the movie had so much uniqueness to “go there”).Like Daphne is like way more spunky, fun, but also just kind of a big weirdo in this movie. That might throw some people, but I love that they are giving her even more personality! I think it turns out quite fun!! When she sings that song, while helping to clean up scooby and shaggy, its pretty random (for her), but that makes it hilarious and awesome! Velma is still super obsessed with logic in this movie, but she ends up having the most character growth (in the film), which is good to see.I see some of the other review points on some things that make it not a 5 star movie, but I just ended up giving it 5 Stars. I think it is a great movie in it’s own right. It is not Zombie Island, the original cartoon, or any other Scooby story that is out there (til now). Happy Halloween is its own special thing!! I think if you let it be what it is than you can sit back and just have a lot of fun. The monster/monsters I thought were really scary actually! The jokes and references a little more mature! I loved the scene that referenced Hannibal lecture (visually and in concept). The movie reminded me most closely with mystery incorporated, which I really loved personally.BE ready for quirky, fast-paced, and random characters (ALL the other added main characters, I think really work and make it really fun). It is a great mix of intensity and humor. There is still that Scooby Doo feeling the whole time. It doesn’t take it “Too” far ever. I think it is just a fresh idea, with some fun twists, on a fun heartfelt Scooby Doo adventure!I absolutely love the first song, where Scooby and Shaggy are hiding in the Mystery Machine together. I thought it was done well; Utter craziness going on outside and happy music / best buds hanging out on the inside of the van. Very cute and fun!!Overall, it was a super fun watch!!! Something different for sure!! Something Unique and quirky!!It was the best Scooby movie I have seen in years!!

One of the Best New Scooby Movies
Fun story. This movie actually gave Daphne a personality beyond the ‘pretty girl’ and while some people are upset by this, it’s really nice seeing her as more of a real person. Elvira’s part honestly could’ve been bigger, and more well thought out, but overall was something I expected much earlier on. The Bill Nye was out of place, but not all bad. I really liked that there was a tie in to Mystery Incorporated, it was a great show. The voice acting sounded a little off in some places, but that’s the editor’s fault. Rent this is you just was a light Halloween movie.

    Family Fun
Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! review: “Spooky family fun!” The new Scooby-Doo film is really cool. This does have some monsters in it and has loads of action. And we find ourselves a villain through the films from last year. This should please viewers with its hilarity and action sequences. Awesome movie!
