Feel the joy of a pain-free and vibrant body! At Essentrics, we love to age! Every decade brings new changes but it was designed to stay strong, vibrant, and pain-free for the full duration of your life. This Aging Backwards® workout dvd will support your body’s unique needs and leave you feeling your best vibrant self throughout the years.

This dvd contains 2 workouts (30min. each) – 1 disc
Pace: slow to medium

Our connective tissue is a fascinating biological fabric that surrounds every inch of our body; every organ, nerve, bone, and muscle cell. Any imbalance or stiffness in one part of your connective tissue will be felt throughout the rest of your body, which means we must work through each layer to ensure our full body remains pain-free, mobile, and full of energy.

Workout 1 (30min):
Rebalance your connective tissue (all-standing) Melt away any hardened or congealed blockages within your connective tissue as you stretch and strengthen your entire body and increase your overall flexibility. You’ll feel balanced, pain-free, and full of energy for the rest of your day.

Workout 2 (30min): Release and rebuild your fascia (standing & chair/barre) Get ready to rehydrate, loosen, and rebalance every inch of fascia while focusing on loosening your hips and strengthening the alignment of your feet and ankles. By working all your muscles, bones, and connective tissue in proper alignment – you will rebuild the collagen fibers of your fascia that will give you a bounce in your step.

    Excellent!
What can I say I love doing Essentrics. Usually do it off of you-tube tv, but wanted something more. Glad I purchased the DVD.

    Start Moving!
I’ve been a big fan of Miranda for years now however… getting up and going at 5:30 AM to tune in on PBS is sometimes a bit challenging!NOW… I feel I don’t miss out on her gentle yet stimulating routines!I’ve heard about “connective tissues” stimulation and therapy over the years and so this piqued my curiosity! The stretches are gentle and calming. I love the ability to PLAY, PAUSE, REWIND… when I want… you get it! Plus… Miranda gives a great talk-thru while stretching as to WHY there is a sequence to this stretching experience!I’m not banking on turning back the aging clock however… I feel energized after every workout and that works for me! Reading up on connective tissue and it’s significance can be a game changer on how one looks at aging! After all, we’re ALL aging…from the very get go!

    Served my purpose
Saw her on one of those PBS “member favorites” episodes, but just the first 20 minutes when they were discussing the theory of how connective tissue functions etc. Anyway, I’m a fit woman and was curious about how she uses body motion to free up and hydrate connective tissue and how pain is related to issues with connective tissue. That piqued my interest. I watched it once, 2- 30 minute routines. However, I have incorporated a 10-15 minute routine at the end of my evening stretching that has been helpful. Her background is that she was a ballerina. So if you’ve ever taken ballet, you will “get” this even more. It makes sense with what she’s doing. After getting this, I started reading The MELT Method and have incorporated that as well. I think that since they both are addressing connective tissue they work well together. These routines are not a workout unless I guess you never exercise. I think it would be great for elderly folks as well. The movements are fluid, not super structured and there’s no counting of reps. She does talk through as one reviewer noted, but she kind of has to because it is not structured like a regular workout. For me it is building on a concept and glad I bought it even if I never look at it again….although I probably will to see other things I may have forgotten. It is about the importance of slow body movement, reminiscent of ballet, Tai Chi, modern dance. I think it actually makes a lot of sense.

    Love these routines
I was looking for a long time for the ballet-like routine for regular/ not very fit people and found it! I purchased this disk in July 2021 after watching Miranda’s routines on PBS. There are two 30 min routines on this disk. I am still on the first one trying to memorize the sequence. The movements are easy to follow from the beginning but there is still a learning curve. I use it every other day and absolutely love the results. I fact I am addicted to these exercises now. I believe that in this video Miranda just shows how to perform the movements and I plan to increase the count in the future. These are hard and I sweat a lot but, o boy, how good it feels. I am an old person and it helps me with body pains tremendously. I walk a lot and do machine workouts (bike, treadmill, elliptical) and experience a lot of pain after these. Miranda’s stretches help me to get rid of joint and muscular pain and to feel tremendously invigorated. Thank you, Miranda!!!

    Very sensible and thorough.
She is an excellent teacher and explains the workings of the body so well.

    My Favorite Workout
I enjoy the Essentrics/Classical Stretch workouts, and these connective tissue workouts have become my favorites.

  7. Beth

Could have been so much better.
I expected better. No beginner tips much less demonstrations. She doesn’t describe what she is doing so you can keep up just after she tells you to turn your head. There is mention of using a mirror but it’s not in the video. I don’t t know anyone over 60 who could do this without hurting themselves.

    It’s a good/okay workout!
As a former fitness instructor myself, I thought this would be a great video to do now that I’m in my 60’s. While it is a good video, I would say be careful because Miranda starts off fast. Adjust as needed for yourself. Also, please be aware that she often will have you do certain movements on one side, and not have you do it on the other. So, my advice would be to slow down, watch carefully, and complete each movment as purposely as you can, on each side, or plane. Don’t worry if you miss a little something else here, or there.

This is a good workout for seniors and people who need to stretch their muscles more great CDs to own.

  10. ROM

This is actually something my whole family does together! We now understand more about connective tissue and can feel the difference in addressing issues and helping with strengthening.

I have only positive things to say about this DVD. There are two exercise aspects – both 30 minutes long & best if done daily. Both gentle and intended as safe moderate entry into exercise to work out the kinks, and enhance balance and support general flexibility&motion in all persons. It is not high intensity but for persons of all ages who happen to have problems stretching, this also provides a good entry point. Not all individuals are naturally flexible. The most important thing is to begin here, gently, and make a commitment to the program. In about a month, I am sure to feel the benefits.

the programme is very good, and Miranda is very careful in guiding the learner each step of the way

I really enjoyed doing the workout, but then the DVD began to skip. I just got a bad one, I will be ordering it again. This type of work is so important as we age. I want to continue and it’s only 1/2 hour per day. It is different than yoga, not unlike Tai Chi as it really stretches your body, but in a very gentle and slightly different way. I could feel the affects immediately. Delivery was very fast and appreciated.
