    Great 90’s Comedy Submarine Movie – No Frills Imported Copy of a Difficult to find Classic
    This is a great 90’s Submarine movie classic comedy that is difficult to find these days. This disc is a no frills copy, no subtitles, no branding, nothing just a copy of the movie. Does play on NTSC region 1. This is a ‘Wide screen’ (1.85 : 1 aspect ratio), so it will fill a 16×9 tv with no bars on the top and bottom. Includes a dolby digital 5.1 sound track (no foreign language subtitles, English soundtrack only). Says on the back it’s for Australia and New Zealand only. Overall, this is a no frills decent copy of this 90’s classic.

    A dream come true is turned into a nightmare for the new captain participating in a submarine war game. The crew he ends up with are hilariously disappointing. The characters are brilliantly funny and the story is very entertaining. The humour is silly and far out. Just right for me. Film contains ‘dirty’ language, so maybe not to be viewed with younger children. No violence or nudity. Everything is fine with the DVD. Delivery was fine.

    I wish this were true. I’d love to know that there was a Submarine Captain like Kelsey Grammer. His portrayal of a last-chance Captain is stupendous. His irreverence and insubordinate attitude are just too delicious to disbelieve. The crew is a bunch of misfits that have been kicked off of other ‘boats’ including the second-in-command (a complete nut-job-paranoid) with a tendency to over-stressing himself into ulcers. The cherry on the cake is a female boat-driver who is very competent at her job, but a BIG distraction for the rest of the crew. Rip Torn plays the 3-Star General in charge of the war games and secretly hopes that his band of misfits (in an old diesel sub) will be able to defeat the fleet of nuclear submarines bent of ‘killing’ the enemy-boat (said diesel sub). The diesel sub captain has many tricks up his sleeves, and most are entirely his own and his crews’ ideas and of course, are unconventional and not entirely within the rules. BUT, if you simulating what the enemy will do, you do NOT follow rules. There is a 2-star general involved in this war game as well, and a real piece of work. It’s lots of fun to watch him disappointed again and again.
