I love Chucky so much the disk where not scratched thank God but the case when I got it was broken and the disk were all over the place in the case I would recommend these DVDs but I would also have to say make sure you have a back up case for all seven movies.

My delivery arrived in fine condition. Many reviews kind of made me anxious to purchase, due to the fact that they stated the DVDs arrived broken. Mine got treated with love. As for Chucky himself, I can take him or leave him. He was included in my reign or era of horror movie watching growing up, along with Jason and Freddy and Michael, so I couldn’t leave him out of my collection, but he is by no means my favorite. But, he was a good deal with the DVDs at a bargain, and I hadn’t watched him in awhile, so I went ahead and got his movies.

Unironically great series of movies
So, I went into these movies thinking I was going to hate them, and the absolute opposite was true. I’m going to go ahead and split this up into three parts since the format of the movies changes exactly twice. In the first three movies, we have Chucky trying to inhabit the body of the most innocent kid in the world, of which he keeps getting framed for everything that happens. It’s almost the same movie 3 times in a row with the kid getting a little bit older each movie. There are slight variations on the story for each movie, but it’s all very formulaic. I took it as a social commentary of how children are often saddled with the crimes of the adults around them, and in that sense I found the first 3 movies very good.The next movie, Bride of Chucky, we’re not longer following the kid but rather the most innocent young couple in love that you’ve ever seen. In Seed of Chucky we find out that they have given birth to Paddington Bear if you’ve ever seen either of those movies. Both Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky are intended to be comedic, which Bride of Chucky was the only movie I didn’t like, but I think that was because I went in with the preconception that it wasn’t supposed to be funny when in hindsight they clearly intended it to be comedic. Anyways, I like when something is self aware enough to mock themselves, and I really liked the dynamic of these two psychotic serial killers with this very pure, innocent and fragile child who they’re both trying to be good parents to, but of course they’re both very selfish and psychotic and have very different ways of how they should rear their child. I thought they succeeded with this change of direction, but again, after these two movies we get something entirely different.So the next two movies are psychological thrillers, and these are the most interesting to me. The first three movies, though I enjoyed them, I don’t think they succeeded at being horror films. The last two did. These feel like budget indie movies with their lack of star power and very limited sets, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s also pleasantly surprising how well Chucky fits into these new, more eerie story lines. The pacing is much slower for these ones and the visuals overtake the dialogue in importance. I think the transition to this phase went particularly well, although I wonder what happened to the children from Seed of Chucky. But now that we have the new remake, I suspect we’ll just never know. Oh well.Overall I was really surprised at how much I liked these movies. I honestly thought I was going to be watching total garbage at the end, and instead I think I’d go as far as to say the last two were probably the best of the series. I never even watched these movies as a kid, so no nostalgia glasses. Actually really good movies.

Cada pelÃcula viene en un disco individual, tristemente solo las pelÃculas 1, 6 y 7 tiene doblaje al español latino y solo la versión extendida de la 7 también esta doblada al español. Pero todas están subtituladas. La parte 1 trae mucho material adicional pero sin subtitular, la 2 y 3 no traen nada extra (desgraciadamente), “La novia de Chucky” trae muy poco pero interesante material extra (sin subtÃtulos), “El hijo de Chucky” trae varios detrás de cámaras divertidos (sin subtÃtulos) y tanto “La maldición”, como “El culto a Chucky” tiene material adicional más extenso y subtitulado. En general fue una buena compra ya que estaba en oferta y pagué $485 por ella, además el envÃo fue rápido.
