On screen text not turn off during the play, audio is muted when in slow
This player’s remote software shares the similar flaws with other brands:1. the software does not turn off on screen text during play, with the text on the screen, it distorts the viewing experience.2. in slow speeds, there is no sound. Without the sound, the viewing experience is diminishedAside these 2 issues (bugs came with OEM firmware, not vendor’s fault), for those who never use the above functions, this is a good buy. Don’t let the one-star comment stop you, they just did not get themselves familiar the set up or never try to do set up.

Not great and outdated
Perhaps it’s my own folly for not reading into the details, in my defense technical details don’t often make much sense to me.While this will do if you’re in a pinch and just need a DVD player, it’s not at all compatible with a TV made in the last 15 years. There is no wide screen option, leading to a compressed version of any show/movie made after 2010. The picture quality also reflects this. And yes if you plan on using this for a TV made after 2010 you will need a converter. If you like watching modern television in a vintage way, this is definitely the DVD player for you. I would have rated it lower but it is functional and I’m sure I didn’t read what I was suppose to.
