    Amazing 4K player
My old LG 4K player started to act up by freezing twords the end of any movie and not wanting to switch layers, so I decided to do some research. This 4K player was always in top 3 if not the number 1 pick.It arrived a day sooner than promised and in great condition. The set up was easy and straightforward by following the onscreen prompts. The amazing picture quality was absolutely noticeable from the start!!The sound quality is rich with subtle details I previously didn’t notice. The build of the unit is solid and sleek.I haven’t used it for its highly praised upscaling yet, but I’m sure it won’t disappoint!!It’s more expensive than other players, but I feel from the picture quality I’ve witnessed thus far (Star Wars: A New Hope and Top gun Maverick) it’s well worth the price!!I look forward to watching countless movies now, without wondering when it’s going to freeze 3/4 of the way through the movie. The remote is nice and straightforward. The only slight downside to me is the lack of streaming apps available. No Disney+, but has Netflix and Prime video. The setting options are in depth, but I’m not going to play around with them. They are all there if that’s what you’re looking for.

It is terrific at playing back 4K. It is terrible at everything else.
You have to know going in, this is the single best player you can get under $1000 dollars for playing 4K content. It does that one thing well.Supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10, deep color (4:4:4) and Atmos audio. It has decent upscaling and is regarded as one of the best color scaling players ever made.Everything else about the player is actually pretty bad. It is physically large with a flip-down cover just to put in a disk. Also behind the cover there is a tiny and hilariously-retro line segment display which can’t even display “Panasonic” without scrolling. There are only two buttons (power and eject) which beyond all logic or reason are placed on the TOP of the case. Don’t plan on stacking this thing.Even with several firmware updates the UI is circa 2004 (think PlayStation-2). Each and every setting has a detailed description yet still manages to be confusing. Many features enable or disable other features making it a chancy proposition to change anything once you have it “just right”. Many high-quality settings are disabled by default. Auto-detect is hit-or-miss. It frequently selects low-quality audio mixes so you have to check disc settings every single time. The remote control is a disorganized mess which the obligatory garbage stream app buttons. You will not be able to navigate this thing in the dark.

Superb performance but cheaply finished 4K Blu Ray Player
This player is an anachronism in that its performance belies it’s appearance. This unit feels and handles like a low cost Blu Ray or DVD player but the picture quality is nothing short of superb. Having come from an Oppo player which has both superb build quality and an excellent picture but is restricted to HD (2K) Blu Ray performance, this player was not a pleasant experience. However once a disk was inserted (with the typical cheap sounding disk tray and plastic noises) you could forget the poor apparent build quality and focus on the picture. I am viewing the output on an LG 77″ OLED set and was suitably impressed.Setup is simple and easy to navigate. The remote is useable but nothing special. Picture setup was remarkably simple to follow and I allowed the LG to do most of the work. Picture quality was excellent with the deep blacks being very deep and subtle transparency and detail in the dark scenes in such films as Star Trek, Avatar and Inception. Moving from 2K to 4K was a revelation and made me want to buy UHD (4K) versions of all my favorite films. The difference between streamed 4K and UHD 4K Blue Ray disks was readily apparent. 2K to 4K or SD to UHD scaling was excellent, but the lG is very good at this anyway.I tested the player with a selection of DVD (SD), Blu Ray (HD) and UHD Blu Ray disks and was impressed. There is a version of this player (DP UB9000) which is of a much higher standard in build quality but is nearly $600 more expensive (ie twice the price) for what seems to be or is reported to be the same picture quality, so this player is better value, but if the 9000 had been $300 more expensive I would gone for that version simply because is a much better built machine and probably better in the long run.Overall this is a player spoiled by the feeling that it is a cheap and nasty DVD player but provides very high quality output used with a good 4K TV set.

Panasonic Blu-ray Player – Sound and Visuals !!
I recently purchased the Panasonic Blu-ray player, and I am absolutely thrilled with the experience it has provided. The crystal-clear sounds that this player delivers are nothing short of spectacular, especially when channeled through my 7.1 setup, which includes Polk audio speakers and a Klipsch subwoofer, all managed by a Denon AV receiver. The sound quality is immersive and precise, making every movie night a phenomenal experience. The visuals are equally impressive. When connected to my Samsung 4K TV, the picture quality is breathtakingly sharp and vibrant, enhancing every detail and color. This player truly brings out the best in my TV’s capabilities.Yes, the Panasonic Blu-ray player is on the expensive side, but it’s worth every penny because of the special processor inside. The performance is unparalleled, and for the first time in seven years since I set up my home studio, I am thoroughly enjoying my media setup.Forget about any additional bells and whistles; focus on the main attributes—sound and picture quality. If you value these aspects, this Blu-ray player is a must-have. Enjoy!
