Will play blu ray with power dvd 22
So far so good. One of the first things I tried was burning a windows 10 install DVD. I had the drive hooked up to a usb3 extension cable and after about 18%, it seemed to just kind of turn off and not do anything. I guess I got a DVD coaster now. My laptop has a USB c 3.2 port so I tried the included adapter just hooked to that to burn it the 2nd time. It worked fine. I’ll just assume for now the extension cable wasn’t able to provide adequate power?I tried to get VLC to play some blu ray discs with no luck (yet). Found CyberLink PowerDVD 22 and that proved this external drive can play blu ray. So no worries there. If you actually try the program, don’t let it change refresh rate. A little confusing to revert, but possible. It just makes everything laggy looking. I have a few m-disc 100gb blu ray drives on the way to make backups of my most important files so I will try to update my review once that happens. Like I say, it’s been good so far. Don’t pick it up while it’s reading or writing discs and put it on the most flat surface possible. I don’t want to destroy a blu ray from a box set or a 10 dollar blu ray blank from mishandling this thing haha!

Works great so far
This is the third one I have and it’s good quality. It does have some errors sometimes but I just open and close a few times and it works fine. Reads blu rays and DVDs. Doesn’t play my CD r for some reason. I burned about 20 blu rays and it’s worked almost every time. It’s not that loud and looks very slim . Wish it opened automatically and not the push and pop. Bought a $40 one it was horrible so I just Paid $100 for good quality. I will see how long this works.

Drive failed after less than one month
Drive worked okay initially, tested it to verify it worked, played perhaps 10 minutes of a blu ray to ensure it worked. A little unreliable on connecting to USB, but worked. Several weeks later after no use, attempted to use and it is not being recognized by computer. Throws USB drive malfunction errors, constant disconnects/reconnects. Will sometimes be recognized for maybe 2 minutes, attempt to play blu ray, drive disconnects in the middle of playing. Attempted on both USB 2.0 & 3.0 ports, two sets of USB cables and two different computers, same results everytime. Borrowed a friend’s blu ray player to test against, friend’s blu ray player works just fine on all setups. Returning item as unusable.

Small package, easy to keep with the laptop. It comes with a sw disk but I haven’t needed it — plays music without any additional arranging. The sound is as good as the speakers — my Bose bluetooth sounds as wonderful as ever. And you can’t beat the price.

Works perfectly fine to burn optical media. Auto-detect by Windows, it’s a great product. Note that when reading a blu-ray disc, every 40 minutes or so, the movie stops for 2-3 seconds to buffer more content, a bit annoying but weird. Maybe there is an option in VLC to buffer more. The speed is great, it shouldn’t be doing that. Haven’t troubleshooted this issue as I don’t watch a lot of movie with this product. Still love the product, very compact.

I recently bought the Verbatim 98938 External Slimline USB 2.0 CD/DVD printer to transfer some old CDs to my PC, and overall, it did a good job. The device is compact, lightweight, and very easy to use – just plug and play, no bulky power adapter needed. It also comes with Nero Burn & Archive Software, which was a nice bonus.However, I did run into an issue where it couldn’t read some DVDs on the first try. It eventually worked, but it took a couple of attempts. Despite this minor hiccup, it handled most of my discs without any trouble.If you’re looking for an affordable and portable CD/DVD reader, I recommend this product. Just be aware that it might take a little patience with some discs. I bought the USB 2.0 version, and itâs a solid choice for basic needs. 4/5 stars!

Das Laufwerk wird problemlos von Windows erkannt (WIN 8, 10, 11 sind als kompatibel aufgeführt, ich habe es auch mit WIN7 getestet) und ist ohne externe Treiber funktionsfähig. Ob es mit Linux kompatibel ist muss ich noch testen.Eine CD mit Nero-Software und Handbuch liegt bei, habe ich aber nicht installiert. ACHTUNG: angeblich ist Nero nur 2 Wochen als Testversion aktiv, danach muss man ggf. eine Lizenz kaufen – eine solche liegt nicht bei!Meine Testmedien liefen leise, doch geringe Vibrationen können auch mal auftreten. Das Gehäuse ist einfaches Plastik und das eingebaute Laufwerk lieà sich nciht identifizieren und wird nur als “unbekannt” aufgeführt.
