Exactly what I needed.
I just purchased a new laptop and shockingly, it has no disc drive. My laser printer (brand new) has a software disc with important stuff for the printer to work correctly, so I had to buy an external disc drive. So aggravating that the computer manufacturer did that. I understand a disc drive isn’t used every day, but it’s imperative to have when you need it and I needed it.The disc drive worked perfectly. It’s plug and play. Plugged it in, it was immediately recognized by my computer, I inserted my printer software disc and had the software installed in no time. I like that it comes with a USB – C adapter. I used it on the regular USB and it worked flawlessly.Interestingly, I’m going to need to burn a disc (it’s been years since I’ve done that), but I need a hard copy of a music video of my son and this will burn the disc for me!If you buy a new computer, you are likely going to need an external disc drive/burner because computer manufacturers don’t want to spend the money to include them on computers anymore -they want to put the onus and cost onto us. Because we have so much more money than corporations do. ð¤¬This one works great. I highly recommend it. And it’s affordable.

Works great at a fair price
I bought a more well-known external drive last year. The popular model sounded like Cape Canaveral most of the time. It already died – and it never felt like it was working properly. I have only had this Laurensory drive for a week, but it already feels more dependable. It’s pretty quiet, too. It reads all the blank discs and CDs that the other model choked on, and I do not get errors on Windows Media Player (yup, I know – pretty 1990s, but what can I say?) It rips and burns fast. Did not seem to be backward compatible with the USB 2.0 port. Installed almost instantly on the USB 3.0 port. This drive comes with a 1-year warranty and they actually give you a phone number you can call. I can recommend this drive based on past and current experiences with these things.

So happy with this purchase. I thought I was going to need a different pc. I was able to view some medical images on a disc and it worked great,fast.

Failed after 5 months. No support site found.
My burner worked fine for several months then the discs it burned were not readable. This discs could not be erased so I lost about 5 discs before I concluded the burner was no longer working. I looked for a way to ask for a replacement but I do not see one.UPDATE: Seller contacted me to offer a full refund. I will purchase this gain as it’s quite useful for a laptop with no burner.

Works Perfectly!
This inexpensive little player was exactly what I needed to download my custom DVD videos onto laptop then convert to mp3 audio to create Audiobooks. USB cord is only about 8″ long, but not that big of a drawback considering the price.

The USB cable is only 8â long and the drive will not work if a USB extension cable is added. The provided USB 3 adapter does not appear to work.
