    This movie is such a fun way to introduce the board game to anybody. But luckily, I have the blanket board game to play along with the movie. Make sure it’s a super rainy night when you do this. It is way too much fun. By the way, can you figure out who the murderer is?

    Clue comes to 4K UHD Bluray courtesy of Shout Studio and it’s sensational.I won’t bore you with a review of the film – chances are, if you’re looking at this, you’ll know the film already. Suffice to say, it’s a hilarious, fast paced comedy whodunnit packed with fabulous performances and featuring one of the best comedy scripts in cinema history.The question anyone wants answered is, is it worth the upgrade from standard bluray. The answer is, resoundingly, yes!The makers, Shout Studio, describe this edition as a ‘new remaster from a 2023 4K scan of the original camera negative’. I’m no technical boffin but I can say, the picture quality is excellent: pin sharp, with an authentic film quality, light amounts of grain and full of true colour and deep blacks. The opening exterior scenes in the rain are excellent, full of depth and smooth image tracking. Inside, the studio shots are nicely full of depth and the print superbly shows off all those spooky pools of light to great atmospheric effect.Sound is the original mono but don’t let this put you off – the soundtrack is nicely resonant and clear as a bell.The cover price is high, which is a shame, but if you love Clue as much as I do, it’s worth the price. Bonus features are minimal and I haven’t viewed these yet but the movie is the main thing here and it’s fabulous!I live in the UK and imported my copy from the States. Delivery wasn’t quick but it was worth the wait. 4K discs are not region coded so this disc plays perfectly on UK standard 4K players.Hope this is helpful!
